St Kilda claim Round 4 of the Men’s Handball League Australia event

St Kilda (Melbourne) overtook Sydney University in a thrilling final to finish 22:17 in the HLA Round 4. UTS Hawkes won over the younger Brisbane Wolves 24:27 in the 3d place playoff.

Most of the games over the weekend were very tight to the delight of the spectators. Queensland’s Wolves are a young team with many players having moved up from the Juniors squad – they gave Sydney Uni a close run in their Saturday game leading all the way until the final moments when Sydney Uni took control in extra time to finish two goals ahead at 32:34. The future is looking bright for Australian Handball.

Round 4 was held in Sydney on November 18-19. The four match weekend was referred by our latest Oceania officials’ delegates Liam Dailly and Thomas McLean. Photos of the action can be seen on the HLA Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/HandballLeagueAustralia/ and more results on the HLA website at http://www.handball-league.com.au/hla-2017-fixtures-and-results/.

Planning is underway for 2018 and with the hope of new clubs being added to the competition.
