The competition

Australia and New Zealand will compete to represent Oceania at the 2015 Men's Handball World Championship in Qatar, in 2015.

Australia has never lost to New Zealand, at this level, and is considered a heavy favourite to qualify. Since the International Handball Federation awarded Oceania a spot at the World Championship finals, in 1999, only Australia has represented the region.

Newly appointed Coach Jan Ottosen has already selected his squad of 15, and is now going through the final preparations ahead of the qualifications.

This will be Jan's first tournament in charge of the Aussies.

The team comprises of several experienced players, as well as a total of 8 players who will be making their first senior appearance.
