For the third consecutive time, 2014 Oceania Club Champions, Sydney University Handball Club participated at the annual Super Globe tournament in Doha, Qatar. The amateur club from down-under impressed on the globe stage with some of their best performance yet.
The club's highlight coming in the game against one of the giants in world handball, FC Barcelona. Sydney Uni surprised the Handball world going goal-for-goal with the eventual champions for the entire first half. Whilst Barça's strength and experience proved too much in the second half, news of their performance reverberated around the handball world.
Sydney Uni had a chance to register a win in their last game, against Qatar's Al Ahli, but unfortunately the team stumbled at the end, going down 24:25 to the local team. Nonetheless, Sydney University will have gained much from the global experience and will look to go one better next year.
